Back in school and at the piano after a Christmas on North Pender (check out the awesome view from the cabin!) This year my fiction workshop is lead by Matthew Hooton, and I’m curious what he’ll have to say about writing–I saw him earlier last year give a reading from his recent novel at the AGPH. Matthew’s taking the workshop is a surprise, as Lorna Jackson was slated to head it. I’m sad to miss Lorna though, since it was one of her courses that made me decided to swing my degree from the writing of music to the writing of words.
Another new thing this year: students in the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival! As a student I played in the Terrace Music Festival every year, and it’s fun to be on the other side of it all now.
This term is going to fly by.
